THE BEST DRUGSTORE NUDES

Nudes-- can be either sexy or deadly. Pun intended. Sporting a nude lip can be very intimidating especially for girls with medium to deep skintone like me. From my observation, Pinays(Filipino women) stray away from nudes and prefer bright pinks and bold reds. I could still even remember the day I first purchased my Barbie pink lipstick and thought I was the coolest bitch in town. Yeah, I cringed at the thought of that. But hey, it's every makeup junkies phase. Time has evolved and Kardashians already ruled the internet, it's like the evolution of mankind and people are starting to experiment more on makeup. Take She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named(Kylie Jenner) for example, the moment she wore a brown nude lip over her perfectly overlined lip fillers, people went crazy. Suddenly, MAC Velvet Teddy was in everybody's make-up wishlist. And yes, I got a bit carried away too.

Before jumping on the bandwagon, I started to look for drugstore alternatives before splurging on a high-end one. I will be sharing to you five of my favorite drugstore nude picks that are perfect for us, Pinays , who are still wary of the nude trend. Here are my suggestions:

Fashion 21 Arctic Stone(P195)

Fashion 21 Arctic Stone is a nude brown shade with a very creamy to glossy consistency. I first heard about this through Michelle Dy. So, I just had to get it. If you like  hydrating and moisturizing lipstick, then this is for you.

Fashion 21 All Day Matte Lipstick in Bronze(P175)

Fashion 21 Bronze is nowhere near bronze but it is the perfect pinkish brown nude shade and the first local lipstick I fell inlove with. This is a true matte lipstick and the only nude that does not wash you out. A must-buy!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink In The Afternoon(P350)

Revlon Pink In The Afternoon is a cult fave in their Super Lustrous line and I know why. It is a very flattering shade on anyone because it is the perfect  milky pink lipstick with a hint of coral. This is the perfect everyday nude shade.

Wet n Wild  Megalast Lipstick in Just Peachy(P300 or lower)

Wet n Wild Just Peachy is a true milky peachy shade with a neutral undertone. If you are familiar with Wet n Wild lipstick, you know that they are opaque and very matte. If you are a matte girl, then this is for you. Perfect for mestizas but might wash out on morenas. 

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bare It All(P300 or lower)

Wet n Wild Bare It All is a true nude with brown undertone. This is again very matte and one swipe, is very opaque. This shade might wash you out but to make it work, put a bit of gloss on top and this will liven up your lips. Perfect for weddings and prenups.
