Hi guys, let's take a little break from makeup and turn the limelight over to skincare. I was never the one who would religiously slather more than 2 products onto my face before going to bed. I mostly just wash my face with facial wash then put on some moisturizer and doze off. But lately, I noticed that my skin has been breaking out due to the numerous beauty products I slap onto my face.
Also, I noticed that my face has been showing some aging qualities since I am nearing the 30 mark and that is just majorly alarming. Not that I am afraid to age(which I totally am), but once those tiny little marks show up on your face(i.e wrinkles, discoloration), it's about time you take care of your skin.
Skin plays a major role in your makeup application because Albert Kurniawan once said, that if you have bad skin, no expensive foundation can ever save a good makeup day. Nice flawless makeup should start with a clean base and that is having a well-pampered face. There are numerous skincare products in the market that promises you everything about the world but 80% are just, WEH? Those gold caviar creams, snail goop, diamond specks just rings your bell but are they really worth it? I will be sharing to you some beauty products that actually really worked for me and for my friends. Do take note that our skin may differ because I have combination skin: dry to oily. My T-zone is very oily and the outer surface is very dry. So, what might work for me and for my oily-skinned friends might not really work for you. So yeah, keep that in mind. Starting with:
1. Lush Angels on Bare Skin- Look nowhere if your major skim problem is having whiteheads. Whiteheads that just keep on popping out of nowhere. I have extremely bad case of whiteheads that every time I wear makeup, it just accentuates it even more. When I tried this, I finally settled in and look nowhere else because this is just HOLY GRAIL TO END ALL HOLY GRAIL whitehead remover. It does not only remove my whiteheads but it leaves my skin looking fresh and glowy. This is THE BEST and I cannot live without this one. It's THAT GOOD. Sadly, this is not available in the Philippines just yet. I got mine at Singapore.
2. Kiehls Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque-Every once in a while, I like to have a facial spa because I think that my skin BADLY needs it but since I discovered this, I saved a couple of bucks more with this mask. If you like taking facials but find it very expensive, this Kiehls mask, does that for you. When I first tried this, I thought that it was not really mind-blowing. But, what I do, is that after rinsing the mask, I use a dry clean towel and gently wipe any excess whiteheads that pops out of my skin and then voila, my face seems like I just got out of a facial spa. It really does a good job in exfoliating, cleansing and removing excess oil in your face and despite the price tag, it is really worth the buy. If open pores is your skin problem, this is the one for you. This also happens to be my holy grail cleansing mask and a few stars more since I don't have to go to a facial spa trip anymore. SCORE!
3. Myra Vitawhite Whitening Face Lotion-This is my holy grail night time moisturizer since I was 17 years old. I use this religiously back when I know nothing about makeup and this is the only thing that I put on my face. I have tried numerous face lotion or moisturizer but nothing can really beat this. I use this before going to bed and this makes my skin really glowy when I wake up and for some reason, it makes my skin really matte after washing my face in the morning. I'm not sure if this will work out for you after the first use, but if you use this religiously, I promise you that it will give you long-time results. I have tried numerous moisturizer but I still keep coming back to this.
4. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel-Aside from my Myra face lotion, I have another holy grail moisturizer and that is this one from, Clinique. It took me a long time to use a moisturizer underneath my makeup because I am oily(even if that is REALLY crucial), and I don't want to look like a grease ball at the end of the day. But when I tried this, I was BLOWN away. What is so good about this is that the moisturizer is in a gel form so you are assured that it will sink into your skin after application. I put this onto my skin and then seconds later, it seems like the product got sucked into my skin and it will leave you that healthy moisturized look. I use this specifically before my make-up only as it does really make my make-up look less cakey and glowy. If you are afraid of oily slicky moisturizer, this might be the one for you.
5. Celeteque Oil Control Toner-I get really scared with toners because I have nightmares of my high school teacher who got her face red because of using Eskinol. Haha! But when I hear toners, I get a little hesitant. I stumbled upon this, and now, I am hooked. Anything that is shine-free, I am up for that. This is my ride-or-die toner as this is very mild and it helps control oil. I get really sensitive sometimes if I put toner because it can get really stingy on the face but this one is just like applying water. I can feel a tiny sting but it'll go away in seconds. This is very affordable and is readily available in leading markets in the Philippines and I promise you that this stuff really works.
Whew, sorry for the lengthy post but I really get carried away when I rave about a product. I may not have the best skin out there but I really do see a difference when I use this products on, at least for me. Have you tried any of these products?
